Description

The PERFECT Scanbody for Full Arch Implant Cases for your Existing Intra-Oral Scanner

A very easy way for you to judge if your rendered models are accurate is to scan something twice and merge them and see the discrepancy between them
you can scan a dentate arch a thousand times with an ios and you technically will have a thousand different models that can varu 20, 30, or even 40 microns.
Here i show how two separate scans of the io connect scanbodies give identical results. this is the very definition of accuracy- rendering the same results with varying input parameters is all we practically need.
The new tru abutment io connect scanbodies are the PERFECT designs for ios scanning. they eliminate and reduce so many errors. There are still some sound principles you hsould follow, the main one being that you do NOT want to capture any data that is not book-ended by implant suprastructures. the longer the edentulous span the more likely it is that you will introduce errors.
This is step one in understanding how to make ios scans for full arch implants accurate

The Solution if you don’t have Photogrammetry
In this video we detail the recommended scanpath to scan the odds in your favor.  The most important concept to appreciate is that you must assume errors are introduced in the arch scan if you have edentulous spaces between implant suprastructures.  For example, you can see in this image the only object present in the field of view is the edentulous span, which is predominantly how errors are introduced

Follow this video to learn how to scan both the io connect suprastrucutures and how to capture the soft tissue with as little effort as possible
